All photos taken by Dallas motocross photographer Jonny Carroll. The story coming into the day would be between James Stewart and Ryan Dungey. Stewart had won both motos in hang town, but Dungey was on the pace and wanted it bad at freestone. The racing would shape up to be very close for the day.
Mike Alessi looked really focused as well. He didn’t create a lot of attention but took 3rd overall on the day.
Davi Millsaps placed 2nd in hang town, the previous race. He injured himself in practice and would not be able to race. Motocross photographer Jonny Carroll was able to get this shot of him early in the day. He looked to be in good spirits.
This guy at the motocross riders meeting wanted to make sure we all knew who he wasn’t. Pretty funny.
2010’s motocross champion Ryan Dungey looked really strong in practice. He qualified 2nd, just shy of Stewart. Motocross photography by Jonny Carroll
